GLOBAL FREIGHT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

PROJECT BACKGROUND
In 2009, Elogi started a project for a customer who obtained a funding from the HKSAR government to develop a web based global freight management system. With the support from logistics council and a leading freight forwarding organization, the project was successfully completed in 2010. The deliverables of the project was repackaged, enhanced and commercialized by Elogi and was given the name "Global Freight Management System" (GFMS) since early 2011.

GFMS is a powerful, all-in-one web based global freight management system that is designed specifically for the freight forwarding industry. It is a continuously evolving product that was built from scratch with extensive industrial knowledge. We anticipate it will bring tremendous benefits to the business operations of the freight forwarding industry, especially in the areas of security, reliability, scalability and interoperability.

INTEGRATED AIR / SEA / ACCOUNT MODULES

GFMS consists of air freight module, sea freight modules and accounting modules. These modules shares common information such as customers, port codes, currencies etc. and works together in an integrated manner.

PURELY WEB-BASED INTERFACE

Most software claim themselves to be "cloud-based", but require tremendous efforts in setting up the software environment.

GFMS adopts a web based interface and no installation is required at the client side. In addition, it is operating system independent and can be deployed to different computer environments, with virtually zero setup time.

MULTIPLE SITE OPERATION

GFMS allows the partitioning of operation data into sites. Each site is an independent administrative region that shares the same company information and standards. As a result, management can obtain information from different sites rapidly and easily, or consolidate them to see a bigger picture of the whole company operation.

EXTRANET FOR AGENTS & CUSTOMERS

GFMS provides an optional extranet module that allows customers to track and trace their cargoes online using purchase order / bill of lading number and to view financial statements / invoices. Agents can use the extranet to view pre-advice / related documents / invoices through the agent interface.

HIGH SCALABILITY AND AVAILABILITY

GFMS allows multiple network path accesses (we work with several network service providers instead of just one) and therefore is less vulnerable to network instability. The system can pick the path for users automatically or users can select the network paths they prefer. In addition, we are using multiple servers on cloud for better load balancing and fault tolerance capability.

HIGH INTEROPERABILITY

The system adopts common industrial standard (e.g. IATA / TT Club / ISAC / XML etc.) so that it can be easily integrated with other systems. Also, it has built-in functions for importing and exporting bill of lading / airway bill data to XML format to make it immediately ready for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).

HIGH SECURITY

GFMS has built-in user access control system to manage the user permissions. In addition, the application can run within a global virtual private network to provide a secure network environment for transferring sensitive business data. Also, GFMS requires HTTPS (similar to most banks) and can be used in combination with client certificate / IP restriction for a even more secure environment.
